Next steps after onboarding:

Fill out and submit our Book File Upload form. This can be found on the left sidebar of your Author Dashboard and will be needed for us to begin working on your project.
Fill out and submit our New Title Questionnaire. This can be found on the left sidebar of your Author Dashboard and will be needed prior to publication.

If you signed up for one of our editorial services, we will begin the editing process as soon as you fill out the Book File Upload form. Once we begin this, you will receive a notification with estimated turnaround times.
If you signed up for our Developmental Edit service, we will be performing two pre-production rounds of edits before we begin the formatting and layout of your book. We will be performing a post-production proofread after your layout has been completed.
If you signed up for our Copy Edit or Proofread services, we will be performing one round of pre-production edits before we begin the formatting and layout of your book. We will be performing a post-production proofread after your layout has been completed.

If you signed up for our Cover Design service, we will begin work on your front cover mockup as soon as you fill out the Book File Upload form. Your Author Manager will provide an estimated return date within 1-2 business days.
Once you’ve approved your front cover, we will move onto the back cover and spine.
You are allowed unlimited revisions until publication.
Before proofing or publication, we will template your cover for our printers.
Note: Cover edit requests made after templating will incur a $50 re-templating fee.

If you signed up for an editorial service, we will begin work on your book’s formatting and layout once we have completed the pre-production round(s) of edits. If you did not sign up for an editorial service, we will begin work on your book’s interior formatting and layout now.
We will format and lay out the first 1-2 chapters of your book and send for your approval before we move onto the full file. You are involved every step of the way.
We will create your book’s “front matter” (i.e. title pages, copyright page, table of contents, etc.) for you.
Reminder for Base authors: If your final layout exceeds 200 pages, you will be invoiced $1/page for all pages beyond 200 prior to publication.

We will begin work on your eBook files once we have completed your print-edition files. If you did not sign up for a print-edition service, we will begin as soon as we have your final manuscript.

If you signed up for our Author Website service, we’ll send you our Website Intake Form and begin building your website once your book cover design is finalized. If we’re designing your cover, we’ll automatically begin our website process once the cover is complete. If you’re providing your own cover, we will begin the process once we’ve received your final cover.

Publishers Weekly Ad: If you signed up for this 1/8 page ad, we will send you an email with the official publication date of your ad once your book has been published and all eight slots have been filled. We will provide a digital proof of the ad for your approval, and then will send you a link to the digital edition of the magazine when the issue goes live.
Press Release: If you signed up for our Press Release service, we’ll be sending you a short form to submit once your physical proof is approved. We will then draft the release and send it for your review and approval before distributing it to relevant media outlets.
Amazon and Barnes & Nobel Bestseller Campaigns: If you signed up for our one or both of our Bestseller Campaigns, we’ll begin planning the campaign(s) with you once your physical proof is approved.
Video Trailer + Digital/Print Asset: If you signed up for this service, we will begin working on your video trailer and still/digital asset once you have approved your physical proof to ensure all files and metadata are final.
